Vibratory systems are among the most widely used systems in the field of mass finishing technology. They are characterized by their simple operation and robust design. The processing spectrum is extremely diverse – it ranges from gentle deburring and edge rounding to pressure polishing a wide variety of materials. Their open design also makes them particularly easy to maintain and economical to use – even with changing workpiece types.

Work bowl & functionality

In our vibratory systems, we distinguish between two basic designs: the trough vibrator with a rectangular work bowl and the round trough vibrator with a round work bowl. Both variants work with unbalanced motors that set the grinding wheels and workpieces in a circulating motion. This controlled relative movement ensures that the workpieces are processed evenly – efficiently, reproducibly and reliably.

Roundtub vibrators SV

The vibratory systems in the SV series have an integrated separating section with a manual separating flap. This makes them suitable for both small, delicate workpieces and large, bulky parts. In conjunction with a frequency inverter, the SV series is also ideal for paste polishing – a versatile system for different requirements and materials.

Roundtub vibrators SVF

Our SVF series offers a bottom discharge for connection to an external separating unit. This concept is ideal for workpieces that cannot be separated efficiently via flaps or sieves. The bottom emptying mechanism enables reliable separation of the workpiece/abrasive mixture – especially for complex or sensitive components.

Roundtub vibrators VA

The VA series is our modular all-round system for round trough vibration. It is supplied with a pneumatically controlled separating flap as standard and can be extended with numerous options – including undersize screening for the automatic removal of undersized abrasive particles and splinters. This significantly reduces the risk of jamming and increases process reliability – especially with sensitive workpieces.

Roundtub vibrators VAF/B

The VAF/B series is specially designed for automated multi-batch operation. Thanks to a pneumatic bottom discharge flap, the entire workpiece/grinding wheel mixture is completely emptied after processing. In combination with an external separating unit, a fully automatic system is created – ideal for continuous operation with high quantities and consistent quality.

Tub vibrators STV

Tub vibrators are used wherever classic round trough vibrators reach their limits – for example with particularly long, bulky or sensitive workpieces. The modular chamber system allows individual adaptation to the workpiece volume and ensures low-contact processing. The STV series is therefore particularly suitable for industries with special component geometries, e.g. in mechanical engineering or the aviation industry.

Frequently asked questions about our vibration systems

The choice of the right drying system depends heavily on the size, shape and quantity of the workpieces. Rotary trough dryers are suitable In principle, almost all materials can be processed in our rotary trough vibrators and trough vibrators – regardless of whether they are metals, plastics or ceramics. However, it is crucial for successful processing that the material has a certain degree of rigidity. With very elastic materials, it may happen that the necessary relative movement between the workpiece and the abrasive body is not sufficiently achieved. We will be happy to check in individual cases whether your specific material is suitable for processing in vibration systems. Ideal for bulk goods and small parts, as they enable continuous circulation. For workpieces that cannot be completely dried in a single cycle, our VAT with pendulum flap offers an efficient solution through multiple cycles. Large, bulky workpieces are preferably dried in belt continuous dryers, while small parts that are not suitable for granulate drying are reliably dried in the HLZ.

The workpiece sizes that can be processed depend primarily on the size of the respective vibration system – in particular on the width of the processing channel. It is crucial that the workpiece can move and rotate freely in the abrasive mass without getting stuck. This is the only way to ensure uniform and effective processing. It is therefore important to always consider the workpiece dimensions in relation to the channel geometry and the size of the abrasive used. We would be happy to advise you individually on the optimal system selection for your components.

The selection of abrasives and compounds depends on the workpiece to be processed and less on the type of processing system. Factors such as material, geometry and desired processing result are decisive. Compared to centrifugal machines, however, vibration or rotary machines offer the advantage that larger abrasives can also be used without any problems. This opens up additional possibilities for targeted surface finishing and the gentle handling of sensitive workpieces. We would be happy to assist you in selecting the optimal combination for your application.

The separation of abrasive media and workpieces is a crucial processing step in mass finishing and is carried out in different ways in our vibratory finishing machines, depending on the type of machine:

Integrated separation with SV and VA
The SV and VA circular trough vibrators feature an integrated screening section through which the workpieces are discharged from the system. This method works reliably when the workpieces are larger than the abrasive media.

External separation with SVF and VAFB
If integrated separation is not possible – for example, if the workpieces are smaller than the abrasive media or if the components are the same size – SVF or VAFB circular trough vibrators are used. These are designed to completely empty the working container. The entire mass is fed to an external separation unit. Various separation processes are possible there:

Reverse separation
The abrasive particles are larger than the workpieces and remain on the screen, while the workpieces fall through.

Magnetic separation
When workpieces and grinding media are of equal size, separation can be achieved if the workpieces are ferromagnetic.

Yes, thanks to our customised solutions, round trough vibrators can be easily integrated into automated production lines. With the help of automated feed and discharge systems, our systems can be seamlessly integrated into existing processes. This allows workpieces to be fed, processed and discharged again efficiently and reliably – without any manual intervention. This enables continuous processing in series production and significantly increases productivity and process reliability.
