Throughfeed systems
Throughfeed finishing offers similar effects to vibratory finishing, but with decisive advantages: The intermittent workpiece feed enables particularly gentle processing – ideal for sensitive components. At the same time, the process is automated and efficient, which makes it particularly attractive for high quantities and sensitive geometries.
How throughfeed systems work
An unbalance motor in the center of the throughfeed system causes the work bowl to vibrate. Similar to our vibratory systems, a circulating movement of the grinding wheels and workpieces is generated. The particular advantage of this technology is that the workpieces are fed in from below, pass through the spirals and are discharged at the top end via the separating section – for efficient and gentle processing.

Our systems
Throughfeed systems DL
Our DL series throughfeed systems combine maximum performance with minimum space requirements. They integrate a complete processing section of up to 18 meters, including a separating unit, in a compact space. Thanks to the intermittent workpiece feed, they enable particularly gentle, low-contact processing – ideal for sensitive components in line production.

Frequently asked questions about our troughfeed systems
What maintenance and cleaning costs are associated with throughfeed systems?
Our throughfeed systems are particularly low-maintenance and comparable to classic trough vibrators. Cleaning requirements are also minimal, meaning that the systems can be easily integrated into the ongoing production process. Only the siphons require a little more attention: regular checks are recommended, as water can accumulate in the system if they become blocked. Unintended accumulation can impair the feed and should therefore be avoided. With a well-coordinated maintenance plan, such restrictions can be reliably prevented.
What makes our throughfeed system special?
Our throughfeed systems are characterised by their particularly innovative and compact design. The spiral shape of the working container is unique and ensures uniform processing of the workpieces throughout the entire process. Another advantage is the sophisticated conveyor technology: since the workpiece-abrasive mass is transported upwards, gravity can be used to return the abrasives after separation – without the need for additional conveyor belts.
Despite their powerful processing range of up to 18 metres, our systems require very little floor space. Our DL1000, for example, requires only 7 m². At the same time, the working container, with a width of up to 395 mm, offers sufficient space for a wide variety of workpiece sizes. The feed and discharge as well as the machining and drying processes are individually tailored to your requirements to ensure optimal integration into existing production processes.
For which workpieces are throughfeed systems particularly suitable?
Throughfeed systems are ideal for processing large quantities in series or line production. They are particularly suitable for small to medium-sized workpieces, such as those typically produced in stamping or casting. Throughfeed processing enables efficient and uniform surface treatment with high process reliability. Typical applications include deburring, edge rounding, and polishing – processes that play a crucial role in industrial manufacturing for the quality and functionality of components.
